Activate your Prepaid edition from your Windows start button
Prepaid activation requires a few simple steps:
- Click the Windows Start button to open the directory.
- Click the All Programs button to open the list of programs.
- Click the Microsoft Office folder to open the list of programs.
- Click a Microsoft Office program (such as Word or Excel) to launch the Activation Wizard.
- In the wizard, enter your 25-character activation key.
Note If a box appears on this screen to type your 8-character referral key, you may leave the box empty. The referral key is not required to activate.
- Click the Install Now button.
- Re-open any Microsoft Office program.
- Click Internet Activate on the pop-up screen to complete activation.

Receive updates
To receive updates and other promotional information on Microsoft products, you can register after activating the 2007 Microsoft Office Trial. Registration is optional and is not tied to activation or required to use the trial.

Find out about Prepaid expiration
After the initial prepaid period expires, the software goes into reduced functionality mode. Some of the limitations of reduced functionality mode include the following:
- You cannot create any new files.
- You can view existing files, but you cannot modify them.
- You can print files, but you cannot save them.
Note Within 30 days of expiration or anytime thereafter, you can renew your subscription with an Office Prepaid Renewal Card.
