We hear you.  There’s always room for improvement. We’re constantly listening to your feedback and conducting our own research to perfect Office Online. It’s now more intuitive to navigate and offers richer content, so you can get more done. Every day.

Interface

Less is much more.  From the instant you enter Office Online, you’ll notice fewer links on the page, so you can focus on the essentials. You’ll also find brand new demos, training courses, and Help articles to answer your more in-depth questions.

Brevity is the soul of productivity.  Now the content you need most is front and center on the Home page, so you can go right to where you want to be.

You'll also find convenient daily tips that keep you up to speed in the applications you use every day and help you use them even more effectively.

Navigation

Fewer paths, more destinations.  Office Online now a new set of top tabs that help you find the most popular content. The Ribbon you’ll recognize from some 2007 Microsoft Office programs makes sure the search box and Update links stick with you while you explore.

As you tab through the site, you’ll notice that each major page has its own set of relevant links running down the left navigation bar. These handy little bits of context let you explore related information without endless scrolling or aimless page diving.

Audience pages

You look familiar.   Use our Audience Pages to identify where you are trying to get things done at Work, at Home, at School or at your Small Business. When you choose the category that best represents your perspective, you’ll find the ideas, templates, articles, and products most suited to your needs all in one convenient place.

Products

Kick the tires.  On the new Products tab, you can examine and compare the latest Microsoft Office suites, programs, servers, and services. Demos, overviews, and Product Guides keep you in the loop. You can even download trial versions or take an online test drive.

Microsoft Office Live

Take your business online.  Microsoft Office Live helps you take your business online with a free domain name, free Web site hosting, and free company-branded e-mail accounts. Microsoft Office Live also offers Small Businesses shared workspaces for accessing critical documents and more than 20 applications for managing customers, employees, projects, and calendars.

Better Help

All the right answers.   Now you can filter your search results and customize your Help results to address your specific programs. Great help is officially easy to find.

Contextual search

Search smarter.  Your search results will now relate to the tab you're on, so you can start with information most relevant to the area you’re exploring. For example, if you search for "PowerPoint" from the Downloads tab, your results will show downloads for Microsoft Office PowerPoint. To broaden your search, select a subject area from the search box’s drop-down menu. It’s that simple.

Customizable help

Fast service.  Sign into My Office Online to build your list of installed programs or let us detect them for you. Your Help results will then be customized to your specific programs, so you’ll get the advice you need the first time you ask.

Be unforgettable.  We'll remember your list of programs, so the next time you visit Office Online, the Product and Help tabs will show you the answers you're looking for.

Improved graphics

Don’t start from scratch.  A little formatting can go a long way. Whether you're ready to create the perfect resume, a compelling presentation, or informative spreadsheet, start on the Templates tab. You'll quickly find an ideal design to help you begin.

New templates

Look great without trying.  Office Online offers over 4,000 strong beginnings for your next project. Find the right one by browsing our new categories, clearly labeled and organized by document type. The most popular template categories appear on the main page. You can also search the entire collection by program and, starting with 2007 Office, access it directly from within your Office programs under "File," "New."

Template community

Good ideas play well with others.  If you’ve solved a problem with one of your templates, chances are someone else could benefit from your experience. When you register and sign in with My Office Online, you can share your favorite templates with the Office Online community and explore the many submitted by other visitors. Rate templates, find others created by the same user, and get to know your virtual neighbors through individual profiles.

Ask and you shall receive.   If you're still stumped, use the Template discussion boards to ask fellow users for advice.

Clip Art

Dress to impress.  Now you’ll find over 150,000 pieces of clip art, photos, animations, and sounds, and Clip Tips to help you use them on the Clip Art tab. These convenient resources give you the extra edge you need for a perfect project. Stop by and see what’s new.
