• You must give a name to your distribution list.
• Depending on your e-mail system, there may be size limits to distribution lists. If your e-mail server tells you that your distribution list is too large to save, you can create smaller distribution lists and include them in the large distribution list. You can also save a distribution list to a contacts folder.

  How?

  1. Open the distribution list you created.
  2. On the File menu, click Move to folder.
  3. In the Folders list, click a folder to move the distribution list to, or click New to move to a new folder.

Distribution lists are saved in your Contacts folder, marked with .

• You must save a distribution list before you can use it to send messages.
• If you received a distribution list as an e-mail attachment, only the e-mail addresses that are in the Global Address List (Global Address List: The address book that contains all user, group, and distribution list e-mail addresses in your organization. The administrator creates and maintains this address book. It may also contain public folder e-mail addresses.) will work. Addresses that are from a Personal Address Book (Personal Address Book: A customizable address book used to store personal e-mail addresses you use frequently. However, Contacts offers more advanced features for this function. Personal Address Book files have a .pab extension and can be copied to disk.) or Contacts folder will not work. You will need to get those contacts (contact: Person, inside or outside of your organization, about whom you can save several types of information, such as street and e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and Web page URLs.) or addresses from the sender and add them to your Personal Address Book or Contacts folder.

When you use a distribution list, the names of all the people on the distribution list will appear in the To field of everyone's message.
