Empty the Junk E-mail Folder
- On the
Go menu, click Folder List (Folder List: Displays the folders available in your mailbox. To view subfolders, click the plus sign (+) next to the folder. If the Folder List is not visible, on the Go menu, click Folder List.).
- In the
Folder List, right-click the
Junk E-mail folder, and then click
Empty Junk E-mail Folder on
the shortcut menu.
Notes - Emptying the Junk E-mail folder or deleting an item (item: An item is the basic element that holds information in Outlook (similar to a file in other programs). Items include e-mail messages, appointments, contacts, tasks, journal entries, notes, posted items, and documents.) from the Junk E-mail folder moves the item to the Deleted Items folder. You can permanently delete an item by selecting the item and then pressing SHIFT+DELETE. To permanently delete all the messages in the folder, press SHIFT and click Empty Junk E-mail Folder on the shortcut menu.

If you are using a Microsoft Exchange Server e-mail account and working online, you must be using Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or later. If you do not know what version of Exchange server your e-mail account is using, contact your Exchange administrator.
