If you connect to your Exchange server through the Internet, and you are not using a virtual private network (VPN) (virtual private network (VPN): Extension of a private network encompassing encapsulated, encrypted, and authenticated links across shared or public networks. VPN connections provide remote access and connections to private networks over the Internet.) or a connection to your organization's network, your Exchange server administrator can provide you with information on what security or Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) settings to use. To change these settings, do the following:
- On the Tools menu, click E-mail accounts, select View or change existing e-mail accounts, click Next, select the Exchange e-mail account, and then click Change.
- Click More Settings, then click the Connection tab.
- Under Exchange over the Internet, select Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP.
I don't see this option
There are requirements on both your computer and on the Exchange server to use this feature. These include: - Click Exchange proxy settings.
- Under Connection settings, select the Connect using SSL only check box.
Set the additional options specified by your Exchange server administrator.
