One clever way to make your e-mail signature look really personal is to include a handwritten signature in it. To do this, you can use a Tablet PC or create a picture of your signature (more on this in a minute). Keep in mind that if you choose to do this, it's probably better not to use the same handwritten signature that you use to sign legal documents. For e-mail, just your first name or initials should do.
Use a Tablet PC
If you've got a Tablet PC or some other pen-enabled device, you can hand write your signature. The signature in the example was created using a Tablet PC. First, we wrote the signature in a message, selected it, and then copied it. Then, we pasted it into the Edit signature area of the Signatures and Stationery dialog box.
Create a picture of your signature
If you don't have a pen-enabled device, there are other "low-tech" ways to create the effect of a handwritten signature. For example, if you have a scanner, you can use a regular pen and paper to write your signature, scan it, and use that image as the picture in your e-mail signature. Or, if you can receive faxes on your computer, send yourself a fax with your signature. These methods will create a picture of your signature.
Once you've got the picture, you can size it and then use the Picture button in the Edit signature area of the Signatures and Stationery dialog box to insert the picture into the signature.
Reminder People who receive messages in Plain Text format won't see the picture of your handwritten signature. If you correspond with people who read their e-mail in Plain Text format, you'll want to make sure there's a typed version of your name in addition to the picture of the handwritten one.
