When you redirect a domain name to Office Live Small Business, but leave your e-mail addresses with your current registrar, this is known as
partial redirection.
The first time that you partially redirect an existing domain name from another registrar, that domain name automatically becomes the primary domain for your site. Visitors who type the URL for your redirected domain will reach your Office Live Small Business Web site.
After you partially redirect your site, you must perform the following steps each time that you want to make changes
to your Office Live Small Business Web site:
- Change your primary domain to your free Office Live Small Business domain that ends with .officelive.com.
- After you make changes to your Web site, change your primary domain back to your partially redirected domain name.
Note These steps are only required for a partially redirected domain name. If you redirected both your Web site and e-mail addresses to Office Live Small Business, you do not need to change the primary domain before making changes to your Web site.
This topic provides instructions for changing the primary domain for a partially redirected Web site. For information about Web site redirection, see Redirect your domain name to Office Live Small Business. For information about making changes to your Web site, see Get started creating your Web site.
