Let's play a presentation

Let's play the presentation you created on screen.
When you play a presentation, you can display the slides one after the other in full screen mode.
When you play a presentation it is called a "slide show".

Let's open the presentation that you saved previously in "Let's check the print layout" and play it.

Let's play a presentation from the beginning to the end.

  1. Click From Beginning in Start Slide Show on the Slide Show tab.

  2. The presentation begins to play, and the first slide appears on the computer screen.

    Tip: The cursor disappeared!

    When a slide show begins, the cursor is hidden.
    When you move the mouse the cursor is shown, so try moving the mouse for a little while. When you stop moving the mouse, the cursor is hidden again.

    Tip: What about when I want to use a projector?

    You must prepare the following when you want to use a laptop computer and projector to project a presentation on a screen. The first time there are a lot of things to do. Check how to operate each of the items in advance.

    • Connect the laptop to the projector using a cable.
    • Turn the projector's power on.
    • Match the laptop computer display resolution to a resolution supported by the projector.
    • Use the keyboard to switch the laptop's image signal so that output is displayed on both the laptop's screen and the projector.

    For more information on setup and installation, see the manuals that come with your laptop and projector.

  3. Press the mouse's left button (called 'click') to go to the next slide. Press the RIGHT ARROW key on the keyboard to go to the next slide.

    Tip: How do I go back to a previous slide?

    Press the LEFT ARROW key on the keyboard to go to the previous slide.

  4. Let's click until we get to the last slide. When you click the last slide, you go to a black screen, which is the end of the slide show. "Click to exit." is displayed.

  5. When you click, the presentation stops playing, and you return to the edit window.

    Tip: Other ways to play

    Doctor

    There are other ways to play a presentation.
    Click F5 on the keyboard to play a presentation from the beginning as in the steps above.
    Click From Current Slide in Start Slide Show on the Slide Show tab to play the presentation from the slide currently displayed.

    You can play the slide show from the currently displayed slide also by clicking the Slide Show button in the lower part of the window.

Operations available while playing a presentation

When playing a presentation, you can not only go to the next page and go back to the previous page, but also quickly go to a specific slide and edit it.

Go to a specific slide

  1. Open a presentation.
  2. Press the right mouse button (this is called 'right-click') in the window where the presentation is playing.
  3. Point to the Go to Slide, and then click on a slide number.

  4. The slide that you clicked is shown.

Exit in the middle of a presentation

You can exit in the middle of a presentation without showing it to the end.

  1. Open a presentation.
  2. Click the right mouse button in the presentation play window.
  3. Click End Show in the menu that is shown.

  4. The presentation stops playing, and you return to the edit window.

Write on the slide

While playing the presentation, you can use the mouse to underline, circle or emphasize text on the slide.
Let's use the "Felt Tip Pen" command to write on a slide.

  1. Open a presentation.
  2. Click the right mouse button in the presentation play window.
  3. In the menu shown, point to Pointer Options, and then click Felt Tip Pen.

    You can now use the mouse for writing on a slide. The shape of the cursor changes to the felt tip pen's red dot.

  4. Move the mouse while holding down the left mouse button, and then write on the slide.

  5. If you have written on the slide, the following message is displayed when you end the slide show.

    Click Keep to return to the edit window keeping what you have written. In the edit window, you can check the content of what you have written.
    Click Discard to delete the writing and return to the edit window.

    Tip: Saving your writing

    If you want to save your writing, save the presentation.
