Change the source of a link

Applies to: Microsoft Office Excel 2003

Show Change the source workbook for all links that use the source

Open the workbook that contains the link.
On the Edit menu, click Links.
In the Source box, click the name of the link whose source you would like to change.
Click Change Source.
In the Change Source dialog box, click the source workbook (source file: The file that contains information that was used to create a linked or embedded object. When you update the information in the source file, you can also update the linked object in the destination file.) you want to refer to.

Show Change the source of one link without affecting other links that use the source

Select the cell with the link.
In the formula bar (formula bar: A bar at the top of the Excel window that you use to enter or edit values or formulas in cells or charts. Displays the constant value or formula stored in the active cell.) , look for a reference to another workbook, such as C:\Reports\[Budget.xls], and change it to the name of the new workbook.
