Remove data validation
 
  1. Select the cells where you no longer want to validate data.

    To remove data validation from all similar cells or from all cells that have validation on a worksheet, find the cells.

    ShowHow?

    Do one of the following:

    Find all cells with data validation

    1. On the Edit menu, click Go To.
    2. Click Special.
    3. Click Data validation.
    4. Click All, and then click OK.

    Find cells that match certain data validation settings

    1. Click a cell that has the data validation settings for which you want to find matches.
    2. On the Edit menu, click Go To.
    3. Click Special.
    4. Click Data validation.
    5. Click Same.
  2. On the Data menu, click Validation, and then do one of the following:

    • If prompted to erase current settings and continue, click OK, and then click Cancel.
    • If the Data Validation dialog box appears, click the Settings tab, and then click Clear All.

Note  You cannot remove the data validation for cells in a list (list: A series of rows that contains related data or a series of rows that you designate to function as a datasheet by using the Create List command.) that is linked to a SharePoint site.
