Open the source of a link
 
  1. Switch to the workbook that contains the link (external reference: A reference to a cell or range on a sheet in another Excel workbook, or a reference to a defined name in another workbook.).
  2. On the Edit menu, click Links.
  3. In the Source box, click the name of the workbook you want to open.
  4. Click Open Source.
