Strategies for updating your Japanese Office XP installations

The Japanese Office XP Input Method Editor update must be installed on each client computer that runs Japanese Office XP. To deploy the update, you can save the executable to a file server and use any of the following methods to distribute the file within your organization:

  • Add a line to the NT logon script or Active Directory Computer Startup script that instructs the users computer to run the file.
  • Use software distribution software, such as Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS), to run a script that instructs the file to be run on the users computer.
  • Provide users with a command line or batch file that will run the installation for the user.
