Reporting Office Application Crashes

The new Corporate Error Reporting tool (CER) 2.0 replaces the version of Corporate Error Reporting that originally shipped with Office XP. While the two versions are much the same, the CER 2.0 version provides a common tool that can be used for both Microsoft Windows® and Office error reporting.

The Corporate Error Reporting (CER) 2.0 tool allows IT Administrators to manage error reports and error messages created by the Microsoft Windows Error Reporting client (WER) in Windows XP and Windows Server™ 2003 and error-reporting (ER) clients included in other Microsoft programs. If error-reporting clients are configured to work with CER 2.0 then error reports are redirected to a secure CER shared directory instead of being sent to Microsoft.

CER 2.0 is available on the Microsoft Volume Licensing Site (MVLS) for eligible Software Assurance customers. For more information, see Corporate Error Reporting.
