In Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003, there are several
ways you can look at the content on your Web site as you create it. By using different views of your pages as you design, publish, and manage your site, you can find and solve site problems and make the whole Web creation, revision, and publication process more effective.
Note The FrontPage 2003 user interface provides a larger work area than previous versions as a result of removing the Views
bar. This change reduces the need for you to scroll, saving you time and making site design easier.
You can work with your Web pages in any of the following views:
Page view
You can choose from four
Page views, depending on
how you want to view
and work with your pages.
- Split view
You can review and edit Web page content in a split screen format that offers you simultaneous access to both the Code and Design views.

- Preview view You can see approximately how the page will look in the Web browser without having to save your page. Use this view to check small changes before you commit to them.

Note To work with your Web content in one of the Page views described above, click the view that you want at the bottom of the document window.
Folders view
You can use Folders view to work with your files and folders directly and to organize the contents of your Web site. You can also create, delete, copy, and move folders in this view, which is similar to Microsoft Windows Explorer.
Remote Web Site view
You can use Remote Web Site view to publish an entire Web site or to selectively publish individual files. You can also synchronize files between two or more locations — that is, make sure that sites with the same content are up-to-date with recent changes.

When you view folder contents in Remote Web Site view, the files are marked with icons and descriptive text indicating the publish status, such as Don't Publish, Changed, Unchanged, New, and Conflict.
You can filter the view to show the folder contents, files to publish, files not to publish, and files in conflict.
Reports view
Reports view allows you to analyze the contents of a Web site after running a report query. You can calculate the total size of the files in your site, show which files are not linked to other files, identify slow or outdated pages, group your files by task or by the person that they
are assigned to, and more.
The following Reports view is one example of the many types of Reports views that you can analyze. The Site Summary report provides an overview of your Web site's vital
statistics, such as the number and sizes of files and pictures, number and
types of hyperlinks, and more.

Navigation view
Navigation view provides you with a hierarchical view of your Web pages. This view enables you to arrange the pages in your site by clicking on a page and moving it to a new location in the site.

Hyperlinks view
Hyperlinks view shows the status of the hyperlinks in your Web site in a list. This list includes both internal and external hyperlinks, and uses icons to indicate whether the hyperlinks have been verified or are broken. The following screen capture indicates that the link between the Rome.htm page and the Activities.htm page is intact. However, notice the broken link between the Activities.htm page and the GuidedTours.htm page.
Tasks view
Tasks view displays all the tasks in your Web site in a column format and provides current information about each task under various headings.

Find links to more information about views in the See Also box, which is visible when you are connected to the Internet.
