Stop Communicator from starting automatically

By default, Communicator is configured to start when you start Windows.

To stop Communicator 2005 from starting automatically

  1. In the Microsoft Office Communicator window, on the Actions menu, click Options, and then click the General tab.
  2. Clear the Automatically run Communicator when I log on to Windows check box.

You can start Communicator manually from the Windows Start menu. To do so, click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Microsoft Office Communicator 2005.
