Is there a relationship to be found in your data? Use a trendline to find out.
After you get your data plotted on a chart, you want to know what the data is telling you. Is there some underlying relationship or trend? You can find out by using Excel to add a trendline, a straight line or a type of curve across the data points, to display any pattern behind them.
