  • An office layout diagram, for a one-off office move.
  • A brainstorming diagram that will only be used in the context of the Word document.

  • An organization chart, where the information changes regularly.
  • Marketing charts or sales diagrams, where you frequently need to add new information.
 Link
  • A network diagram, when the drawing is totally complete and you're trying to reduce file size.
  • A map, if you wanted to e-mail someone directions.
 Paste as a picture
  • Any drawing included in a document that you plan to send to colleagues who don't have Visio on their computers
 Paste as picture in Windows Metafile or Enhanced Metafile format
