Whatever kind of printer is your default printer, you can select Pure Black and White as your color command. Slides print and preview only in black and white — well, almost only. There are some exceptions, listed below. This command uses less ink than any other command does.
The Pure Black and White command prints slide elements mostly in black and white, with a few grays, as follows:

Printing in Word Using PowerPoint 2003 or PowerPoint 2002, you cannot print the presentation in Word with the Pure Black and White color setting; the slides will print in grayscale on a black and white printer. To avoid that limitation, see instructions in the Quick Reference Card.
