An animated example of how to enter values in Excel Services.
When people open the workbook in Excel Services, the Parameters pane appears on the right, displaying the data entry boxes, and the cell names, which tell them what to do: to enter the number of units they want to price in the Enter_number_of_units box, and to enter the price per unit in the Enter_price_here box.
After they click Apply, they'll see whether the customer gets a discount, and what the total price is, in the workbook next to the pane. Note that the new total price is calculated on the SharePoint site, not on the user's local computer.
The changes to the numbers in the workbook are just temporary. When someone closes the workbook, the changed values are not saved with the workbook. The next time someone else opens the workbook, they will not see the changes made by the last person.
Click Play above the picture to see how people can enter values in Excel Services.
In the SharePoint document library, the cursor clicks View in Web browser next to the file name. The workbook opens in Excel Services.
In the Parameters pane next to the workbook, a value is entered in the Enter_number_of_units box, and a value is entered in the Enter_price_here box. The cursor clicks Apply and the new values appear in the workbook.
