Workflows II: Collect feedback for a file

A person frustrated because there are too many copies of a changed file

Getting faced with multiple copies of a file can be frustrating.

Collecting feedback for a file can be challenging. Let’s say you want to send out a new policy document for feedback. You send an e-mail to everyone with an attachment of the file — but then they come right back at you, with separate attachments containing their feedback. That can be a hassle.

However, if you save a file to a document library on a SharePoint Server 2007 site, you can use the Collect Feedback workflow. The workflow will send out the e-mail for you, it won’t use attachments, and it will show everyone’s changes in the same copy of the file. Just think, everything in one place. Pretty convenient.
