The status bar is the horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen that displays information about the current condition of a program, such as the status of items in the program window, the progress of a current task, or information about a selected item. It is displayed by default, but you can hide it.
- On the View menu, click Status Bar.
This turns the status bar on or off.
