Sometimes you won't be able to see everything that you want to in the dashboard. When this happens, you have the option to open a Web Part in a new window. Opening a Web Part in a new window does not change the information that's available in that Web Part (and it doesn't disconnect it from its data source). Opening a Web Part in a new window lets you see more information. You'll be able to do more with it also. Take the analytic chart in the picture, for example:

When you click the
Open in New Window command…

…the chart opens in its own window and a toolbar is displayed (we've used a box to show where this toolbar is). The buttons on the toolbar allow you to change the chart type or filter out empty rows or columns.

Notice that in the new window you can see all rows of data. When the Web Part is in the dashboard (the Web Part as shown on the left), some of the data is hidden from view (everything below Australia is hidden). With the Web Part open in a new window (right), you can see all rows of data including Japan and Brazil, the entries that appear below Australia.
So now you've seen several ways to see and do more with a PerformancePoint Server dashboard. After you take the test (which is next) we recommend that you take the second course in this series to learn even more.
