Join a meeting or conference call

You can connect to a Microsoft Lync Online communications software conference call, or to the audio portion of an online meeting, by calling in.

Join a meeting or conference call by using Lync on the iPad

You can join the audio portion of a Lync meeting from your mobile phone.

  1. To join an online meeting, tap the Event icon, and from the Online tab, open the meeting invite by selecting the meeting that you want to join, and then tap Join Meeting.

  2. If someone is showing PowerPoint slides in the scheduled meeting, you’ll be able see them in the Lync app from the Chats tab. This only works when you join a meeting from the iPad. If someone is sharing their desktop or showing anything in the meeting, you won’t be able to see it.

Important:  You will only see PowerPoint slides in a scheduled meeting. If you’re in an ad-hoc Meet Now meeting, you will not see anything that is being shared including PowerPoint slides.

Join a meeting or conference call by phone

You can also dial in to the meeting from any phone by dialing the Join by Phone numbers listed in the meeting invitation.

Note:  Your telephone number is displayed in the attendee roster when you join a meeting by dialing in.

Wait in the meeting lobby

The meeting lobby is an online waiting area. The meeting leader can control access to the meeting, or admit someone who doesn’t have the correct meeting credentials. People in the lobby can be admitted singly or all at the same time.

If the meeting leader has enabled the meeting lobby, you’ll need to wait until the meeting leader admits you to the meeting.
