You can use Microsoft Windows Live Messenger with the Mail features of Microsoft Office Live Small Business, including PC-to-mobile phone text messaging, PC-to-PC calling, and file sharing. To begin, you must first download and install Windows Live Messenger.

Download Windows Live Messenger

1. Sign in to Office Live Small Business.
2. On the Office Live Small Business Home page, at the top, click E-mail.
3. In the Instant Message section, click Download Now!, and then follow the directions on the screen to download Windows Live Messenger.

Notify your Messenger contacts about updates to your Web site

If you are an Office Live Small Business account owner, the updates that you make to your Web site cause a yellow asterisk, known as a gleam, to appear next to your name in the Windows Live Messenger contact list, visible to anyone who has permission to view your Messenger status. If a user clicks the gleam, your contact card appears, and notifies the user that your site was recently updated. After the user closes your contact card, the gleam is removed.

 Note   The gleam is only available for Windows Live Messenger 8.0 or later clients.
