Contact support for technical, presales, billing, and subscription issues

As an admin for Office 365, you can get help from the Office 365 Support team for technical, presales, billing, and subscription issues in two ways:

Submit a service request

When you submit a service request from the Office 365 admin center, it goes directly to a Support representative. When you create a service request, provide as much information as possible to describe the issue. After you submit a service request, you will be contacted by a Support representative.

To create a service request for technical, presales, billing, or subscription assistance

  1. In Office 365:
  • For Office 365 Enterprise or Office 365 Midsize Business, click Admin > Office 365 > Support > New service request.
  • For Office 365 Small Business, click Admin > Get help and online support > New service request.
  1. In the New service request wizard, fill in the required boxes, and provide as much additional information as possible to describe your issue. Attach any files you need to, and then submit your request.

After you submit your request, you will be contacted by a Support representative by email. To learn about technical support initial response times, see the Office 365 Support service description.

View, edit, or close a service request

To update and get the status of your service request while it’s open, first find the Service requests page:

  • For Office 365 Enterprise or Office 365 Midsize Business, click Admin > Office 365 > Support > Service requests.
  • For Office 365 Small Business, click Admin > Get help and online support > See all service requests.

Then, you can take the following actions:

  • Respond to a request for additional information from a Support representative.    On the Service requests page, click Filter Filter > Action required. Look in the Assigned to column for service requests that are assigned to you.
  • View the status of services requests that have previously been submitted.    On the Service requests page, click Filter Filter > All Requests. Look in the Status column for the status of each request.
  • Add notes and files to an existing service request.    On the Service requests page, click the service request number, and then click Notes or Files. Add your information, and then click Close at the bottom of the page (not Close request on the right of the page). When you click Close, your service request will be updated.
  • Close the request when your issue has been resolved or you no longer need assistance.    On the Service requests page, click the service request number, and then click Notes. Under Closing a request, click Close request.

Contact a Support representative by phone

You can also talk directly to a Support representative for technical, presales, billing, or subscription assistance:

Note    Admins for Office 365 Small Business should call technical support only if they are experiencing a critical issue; for example, the service is unavailable or unusable. Otherwise, admins should submit technical issues by submitting a service request from the Office 365 admin center.
