Specify Usage Analysis Settings in FrontPage 2002

Important  This feature is available on root Web sites hosted on Web servers running SharePoint™ Team Services from Microsoft or Microsoft FrontPage® 2002 Server Extensions only. If your Web site is a subweb hosted on an appropriately extended server, see your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for more information.

  1. On the Tools menu, point to Server, and then click Administration Home.
  2. On the Site Administration page, under Configure Usage Analysis Settings, click Change usage analysis settings.

Note  If you don't see Configure Usage Analysis Settings, check to make sure you are logged into the root Web site. This feature is not available on subwebs. For more information, see your server administrator or ISP.

  3. In the Usage Analysis area, select On to enable usage analysis, or select Off to disable this feature. If you disable usage analysis, skip to the last step. Otherwise, complete the following steps.
  4. In the Recurrence settings area, specify how often you want the log file to be processed.
  5. In the Additional Usage Analysis Settings area, do one or more of the following:
    • If you want to retain usage data for a certain number of months only, click Automatically delete stored usage data after, and then enter the number of months that you want usage data saved.
    • If you want the information to be processed in 24-hour increments, click Process log file data for full days only.
    • If you would like one or more administrators to receive e-mail notification when usage analysis has completed, enter the administrators' e-mail addresses in the space provided.
  6. Click Submit.

Notes

  • If you select usage analysis settings on the Site Administration page, but usage analysis is not enabled on the server, you will not be able to view usage information in your FrontPage Reports view. See your server administrator or ISP for more information.
  • Logging some usage information requires changes to the server software settings. See your site administrator or ISP for information on what types of usage information logging are enabled.
